About Me
Hi! I’m Kaitlin.
When I was a young child in the halcyon days of the 1990s, there was nothing I wanted more than one of those blue and yellow Playskool cameras. I got one for Christmas, and I blew through roll after roll taking underexposed pictures of my cat under my bed.
Luckily, I improved with time, and I have since upgraded my equipment—though, I do want to get my hands on one of those little blue guys again.
When I was at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, I asked one of my film professors to review my portfolio, and give me tips. His biggest issue? My work was unfocused. Too many portraits, too many landscapes, a whole bunch of cities. Where did my passion lie? What interested me most? He urged me to examine that question, and structure my work such.
After trying to pick a lane, I realised that my passion lied in everything. I was interested in everything. I’m enthusiastic about all aspects of the world. There is nothing that I don’t want to capture, and so sorry, Dr. Cigar Man. I valued that advice, and that’s how I knew it wasn’t for me.
When I’m not taking photos, I’m working as a screenwriter, taking care of my way-too-many pets, playing video games (I’m a certified sicko Elden Lord), designing, or watching movies.
I am located in Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City.
